As environmental awareness continues to grow, Green IT has emerged as a crucial focus for organizations aiming to minimize their carbon footprint and enhance sustainability. Green IT encompasses the adoption of eco-friendly practices in the management and utilization of information technology resources, contributing to more sustainable and efficient operations. By prioritizing Green IT, companies can reduce their environmental impact, achieve cost savings, and improve their public image.

My deep engagement with Green IT includes conducting expert interviews with sustainability specialists, IT managers in hospitals discussing Green Hospital IT, and political representatives. This extensive research led to my role as a second supervisor for a master’s thesis titled “Sustainability Efforts in German Hospitals: A Qualitative Study on the Evaluation of Green Hospital IT Measures.” This thesis examined various strategies and initiatives that hospitals can implement to enhance their sustainability through IT.

The insights gained from this research resulted in several contributions to professional journals, a comprehensive social media campaign, and internal strategy recommendations for our global sustainability campaign, specifically detailing the healthcare sector. My commitment to Green IT and sustainability underscores my dedication to integrating eco-friendly practices into the core operations of healthcare institutions and other organizations, ultimately contributing to a greener and more sustainable future.
